Triple Board Program for Combined Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Training

Welcome to the Brown Triple Board Program!

The five year Combined Residency in Pediatrics/General Psychiatry/Child and Adolescent Psychiatry ("Triple Board Program") trains physicians who integrate the clinical knowledge and skills of pediatrics and psychiatry to provide outstanding clinical care for children and their families.  Our program, one of the original six Triple Board Programs in the country, has been training triple board for over 20 years. Training includes 2 years in pediatrics, 1 1/2 years in general psychiatry, and 1 1/2 years in child and adolescent psychiatry. The five year program provides opportunities for integration of the 3 specialties, allowing residents to develop a unique set of clinical skills to care for children and their families. Triple Board graduates are board eligible in three disciplines and are prepared to practice in any one of them; many pursue careers that cross traditional specialty boundaries. Our graduates have pursued careers in pediatric subspecialties, general and specialty child psychiatry in academic and community settings.
