Undergraduate Program Core Courses

NOTE:  The course numbers listed here will be changing with introduction of the Banner system for online registration.  "BC" courses will have "PHP" prefixes.  We will also have to get the Banner course numbers from other departments.  Please be patient!

1. Introduction to the Health Care System of the U.S.:  This requirement can be met by taking either PHP0310 or PHP0070.  Best taken as a first-year or sophomore.
2. Introduction to Public Health (PHP0320):  PHP0320 complements PHP0310/PHP0070 by focusing on topics of community health and public health that are population-based and broader than the context of clinical health care and reimbursements for services.  Best taken as a first-year or sophomore.
3. Survey Research Methods (PHP1320):  This requirement should be taken by the end of the junior year.  
4. Environmental Health and Policy:  This requirement can be met with one of the following courses: ENVS1710, ENVS1720, ENVS0510, ENVS141, ENVS1700A.
5. Senior Seminar (PHP1910):  This course provides an integration of the concentration.  It is taken in the senior year. 
6. Honors Thesis:  Honors track students take PHP1970 for their thesis preparation, in each of their final two semesters.
