4/5. Two Elective Courses: These two courses must reflect a clear relationship with community health. They can come from the above courses in emphasis areas 1,2,3 and/or from those in the following list of approved electives. Also, see Notes 2 and 3, below. Electives must be approved by the concentration advisor.
The two final requirements are one course each in:
NOTE 1: Concentrators are eligible to enroll in 2000-level courses, given the Instructor's permission. 2000-level courses can be included on a concentration plan, but are always contingent on Instructor approval.
NOTE 2: The courses listed are not always available every year. Non-PHP courses may have pre-requisites. Also, admission to non-PHP courses is at the discretion of the home Department and individual instructors.
NOTE 3: New courses appear each year. Other courses on health and health care issues may be considered for concentration credit, even if they are not listed here. Consult with the concentration advisor about the acceptability of a course that is not listed. If it is not a Community Health (PHP) course, bring the syllabus with you.
NOTE 4: Although required for Honors track concentrators, PHP1970 is also a general independent study number that can be used for examining "special topics" that are not covered by existing courses. Consult with the concentration advisor if you want to have a PHP1970 in your concentration plan.
