Sub-Specialty Clinic Objectives
for Pediatric Clerkship Students


Subspecialists have the opportunity to emphasize aspects of their particular area of focus that are important for the education of the general physician. (from the COMSEP curriculum document)



  1. The student will be exposed to patients referred to or followed by a Pediatric Subspecialty clinic.

  2. The student will interview the parents of a child with a chronic/subspecialty specific illness.

  3. The student will examine a child with a chronic/subspecialty specific illness.

  4. The student will be expected to read about or otherwise obtain more information about a chronic/subspecialty specific illness.

  5. The student will be expected to discuss manaagement of a chronic/subspecialty specific illness.
