Financial Aid

The Office of Admissions and Financial Aid offers comprehensive financial planning guidance to all students and financial assistance to students who are unable to fund their medical education without such support. Both loans and scholarships may be offered to students who meet eligibility criteria established by the federal government and by institutional policies. In addition, service-connected federal scholarships are available to obviate borrowing altogether, and numerous loan repayment programs are available to assist you in repaying your loans after medical school. All of these options and more are described on this website. Please take some time to review this information.

Alpert Medical School offers nearly $3.5 million per year in need-based, institutional scholarships. The average scholarship offered to AMS students in the 2007-08 year is approximately $20,000 dollars. The mean, cumulative educational debt for the graduating class in 2007 was under $133,000, well below the average debt reported for all U.S. medical school graduates.

Our staff is here to help you navigate the complexities of financing your education—before, during, and after medical school. Please contact us at any time.
