Fundraising, Scholarships, and Grants...

[ihi logo]

As you have already noticed, the majority of overseas opportunities are expensive. Many of the organizations listed encourage fundraising and are willing to assist you in finding financial support from external sources. Some may provide scholarships.

Contact the organizations that interest you and ask what fundraising and scholarship possibilities are available. Also contact your university career planning service center, community service center, and academic departments related to your major/concentration. Ask professors for information about any grants with which they are familiar..

You may also try your community resources. Local Rotary clubs, for example, may offer scholarship funds. Finding funding for your overseas travel may be one of the most difficult aspects of your preparation and planning. It is crucial to start early, be resourceful, creative, and persistent.
