Principles of Physiology

Introduction to the function and integration of animal systems with an emphasis on mammals. Includes basic concepts in cell and organ system physiology as well as fundamentals of modern trends in physiological science. Emphasizes the constraints of physical and chemical principles to animal function at both the cellular and systemic levels. Prerequisite: BI 20 (or equivalent placement). PLME students may enroll, but cannot use both BI 80 and 117 to fulfill concentration programs. Written permission required. Enrollment limited to 120 in Semester I, to 230 in Semester II. Sign up on 3rd floor, Biomedical Center, at the start of preregistration periods.
