Presents drugs in the context of the disease they are used to treat. A group of the most commonly prescribed drugs is discussed in terms of their fundamental modes of action and clinical importance. Introduces increasingly important aspects of pharmacology such as recombinant DNA techniques and gene therapy. Prerequisite: BI 20 and BI 80 (or 117).
