| Applying to the Program
Applicants are expected to have made a primary commitment to careers in pathology and laboratory medicine, although individuals who desire abbreviated pathology experience as part of a well conceived personal program leading to a career of medical service are considered. Applicants are expected to meet high standards of intellectual and professional capability and also fulfill the following requirements:
- Applicants must have graduated from an accredited US or Canadian medical school or a hold a valid ECFMG certificate at the time of entry into the program.
- All apllications must be made through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
- US medical graduates must submit a Universal Residency Application including USMLE Step 1 score, medical school transcript, Dean's letter, and personal statement of about one page. Applications should be received before December 1 of the year prior to proposed entry into the program.
- International medical graduates must submit a Universal Residency Application including USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 scores, ECFMG certificate, letters of recommendation, and one-page personal statement. Applications should be received before December 1 of the year prior to proposed entry into the program.
- Applicants who wish to enter the Program after the first postgraduate year must have completed appropriate training in US or Canadian hospitals and submit a complete Universal Residency Application with letter of recommendation from their current residency program director and a letter explaining their reason for changing programs.
