Henri R. Ford, MD is Professor of Surgery, Surgeon-in-Chief at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and Vice-Chair for clinical affairs in the Department of Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California and was most recently named Vice Dean for Medical Education.

 

 

 

Dr. Ford has served as Secretary, President-Elect and President of the Association for Academic Surgery and is the current Secretary for the Society for Black Academic Surgeons. His research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the American College of Surgeons. His investigative studies have generated new insights into the pathogenesis of necrotizing enterocolitis. He has authored more than 300 publications, book chapters, invited manuscripts, abstracts and presentations. He is a member of the editorial board of Annals of Medical Sciences, Surgical Infections, Journal of Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Surgery International.
