Twin to twin Transfusion syndrome (also called fetofetal transfusion syndrome) occurs in identical twin pregnancies with separate amniotic sacs. One twin (the donor) pumps some of its blood to the other twin (the recipient), causing a dangerous situation for both. The information on this site is meant as a guide for (future) parents of twins who may be affected by this condition. We want to provide you with some answers regarding the cause of the condition and the concerns this condition carries.
