This list describes opportunities, in and outside of Brown, for a wide variety of fellowships.
Brown Dept: Dean of the College Fellowship Office
The American-Scandinavian Foundation offers grants and fellowships for study and research in all five Scandinavian countries. Open to United States citizens and permanent residents who will have completed an undergraduate degree by the time their overseas program begins.

Brown Dept: Dean of the College Fellowship Office
Established by Charles Craig, who studied at Selwyn College, University of Cambridge, after graduating from Brown, the Craig Cambridge Fellowship provides an opportunity for one graduating senior or recent graduate to pursue a Masters Degree (M.Phil) in the humanities or social sciences at Selwyn.

The Fulbright Program, sponsored by the United States Information Agency and administered by the Institute of International Education, is the U.S. Government's premier scholarship program, enabling students and artists to conduct research or study in over 140 countries around the world. Congress created the Fulbright Program in 1946, right after World War II; the broad mission of the program is to foster mutual understanding among nations through educational and cultural exchange.

The Henry Luce Foundation's Scholars Program, established in 1974, annually selects eighteen "Americans of outstanding promise" from a variety of fields to participate in one-year internships in Asia based on the participants' career interests and preparation. Rather than offer training for future specialists, this program concentrates exclusively on providing an intensive experience in Asia to young Americans who have not specialized in Asian studies and who would not otherwise expect to have such an opportunity during the normal course of their careers.

In keeping with the mission of the organization, the primary purpose of the Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship is to further international understanding and friendly relations among people of different countries. Students and recent graduates apply for Foundation Scholarships to study or train in any country that has Rotary clubs. Rotary International has clubs in all the major industrial nations, plus a large number of developing countries such as American Samoa, Chad, Malta, Thailand, and Djibouti.

Brown Dept: International Health Institute
The Foreign Studies Fellowship Program is intended to assist students enrolled in the Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME), Medical School and MPH program to organize and plan international health experiences. Each year, the Foreign Studies Fellowship Program awards a small number of competitive travel grants to students with particularly meritorious foreign study plans.

Up to $250 travel awards to pursue scholarly projects. (10 per academic year)

This fellowship is available to medical students who have been selected to attend national meetings in which they are presenting (oral or posters). The student must be the first author on the abstract to be eligible. The award can be up to $500.00 per student and can be used for accommodations, transportation, conference fees and general travel expenses. Small independent study grants, generally in the amount of $850, typically used for research supplies.

One summer fellowship for a student to engage in a project that recognizes the value of the arts and humanities in medicine; under the supervision and mentorship of a Brown faculty member.
