Practice: Dr. Jackson specialized in comprehensive ophthalmology with his associates, Dr. Paul Sydlowski and Dr. Robert Kinder, in Providence and Bristol, Rhode Island. Dr. Jackson, 54, crashed his single-engine plane during icy weather and poor visibility while attempting to land at Yeager Airport outside Charleston, West Virginia. Ice on the wing was a contributing factor in the crash. Both Dr. Jackson and his only passenger were killed in the crash. Dr. Jackson left his wife, Dr. Barbara J. Jackson, and his two daughters, Lisa and Dawn.
