WORKSHOPS/LECTURES/CONFERENCES

STUDENT CONFERENCES/ORIENTATION WORKSHOPS

Throughout the first week of the clerkship, a series of workshops have been organized specifically for the surgery student. In addition, on Tuesday and Thursday, from 5:00 to 6:30, faculty members lead lecture-seminars on surgical topics. Students are expected to sign out with a member of their team/service prior to attending lecture and are not required to return for afternoon team sign out. You should read the related chapter in a surgical textbook, review the pertinent syllabus, readings, and section of the Manual of Surgical Objectives before each lecture-seminar. Students are expected to actively participate in all sessions. Attendance to afternoon sessions is mandatory and students will need to balance OR and Office hour times.
