Applications should consist of the applicant's C.V. and a statement of career goals and expectations. For those candidates who have already identified and contacted a faculty mentor, a brief description of the applicant's research plan endorsed by the faculty mentor will also be required. In addition, letters of recommendation will be considered.Applications will be received until January 2 (February 1 for only the year 2004) of each year and awards will commence on July 1 of the same year. The applications will be reviewed and scored by the Executive Committee.
Review criteria will include the qualifications of the applicant and his/her perceived dedication to an academic career. The quality of the proposed research program will also be evaluated but, while expecting a high level of excellence in the candidate's proposed research effort, more emphasis will be placed in selecting the "right" candidate than the "right" research program.
