MomDocFamily
The mission of MomDocFamily is to provide mentorship and support for women physicians facing the challenges and rewards of combining a medical career with motherhood. We are a multi-disciplinary group of women doctors representing all stages of careers and medical training. We are committed to supporting one another’s efforts to attain professional success and personal satisfaction. Included in our mission is our dedication to learn from each other’s experiences by openly discussing career and parenting strategies.

Amy S. Gottlieb, MD, MDF Co-Director, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Obstetrics-Gynecology (Clinical) at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and the Director of Primary Care Curricula and Consultation in the Women's Primary Care Center at Women and Infants Hospital. Her professional interests include the health care response to intimate partner violence, medical education on women's primary care, and mentoring female physicians. She has one daughter who is 11 years old.

Lynn E. Taylor, MD, MDF Co-Founder and Co-Director, Assistant Professor of Medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, is an HIV/AIDS specialist focusing on prevention and treatment of HIV, hepatitis C and hepatitis B in vulnerable populations and on the primary care of HIV-positive persons. She developed and directs Miriam Hospital's HIV/Viral Hepatitis Coinfection Program. Her research and community-based efforts focus on HIV/viral hepatitis coinfection. She has 2 children, ages 6 and 8.

Carolyn R. Blackman, MD,
Co-Founder of MDF, is a full-time Hospitalist at Kent County Hospital in Warwick, RI. She has two daughters, ages 9 and 5.

Beatrice E. Lechner, MD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a Staff Neonatologist at Women & Infants Hospital. Her research focus is the development of a mouse model of prematurity due to preterm premature rupture of membranes, for which she is funded by the NICHD. Her clinical interests include breastfeeding with special focus on the premature and hospitalized infant. She has three children, aged 7, 4, and 1.

Neha Raukar, MD, MS is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and is also trained in Primary Care Sports Medicine. She is a physician for Brown University athletes, the International BMX team, the AST/DEW tour, and the Boston Marathon. She has lectured nationally on the collapsed athlete. Her research interests include acute management of concussions and the female athlete. She has an infant daughter.

Julie Taylor, MD, MSc, IBCLC is an Associate Professor of Family Medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She has been the Director of Predoctoral Education in the Department of Family Medicine since 2001. Dr. Taylor's clinical, teaching, research, and advocacy efforts focus on maternal-child health including breastfeeding. She is the mother of three children ages eight, five, and three. She is expecting her fourth child in March of 2009.

Anne Wold, MD is an obstetrician/gynecologist who completed fellowships in clinical genetics and reproductive endocrinology and infertility and has held faculty positions at Brown and Yale. Currently in private practice, she has lectured nationally and abroad, conducted research, and published in the areas of reproductive genetics, pregnancy loss, infertility and assisted reproduction. She grew up in the Amazon and in Brazil, and has two children, ages 10 and 7.
